10 Days Rwanda Exclusive safari, The ten day Rwanda exclusive is designed for the visitor who wants a luxurious jungle adventure, participate in memorable activities, enjoy spectacular primate tracking adventures and go on an enchanting canopy walk above the forest among other exciting activities.
Day 1
On arrival at the airport, you will be picked up the guide or driver who will take you to a hotel. After a short briefing, you will be driven through Kigali where you will enjoy a city tour and a visit to the genocide memorial site. You will then go back to relax at the hotel
Day 2
After a soothing morning breakfast you will meet your guide to start along 5 hour journey to Nyungwe forest national park. The journey will not seem as long as you will get to have stopovers at various historical sites such as Nyanza former Kings palace and visit cultural museums all while taking in spectacular views of the countryside.
Day 3
The day starts with an early breakfast before transferring to the headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. Together with the guide, go for a chimpanzee trekking adventure through the thick forest where you will get to engage with the primates for an hour taking photos and making memories. You will then enjoy spectacular views high above the forest on the canopy walk that has been named the best according to Lonely Planet.
Day 4
Although chimpanzees and gorillas take most of the credit as Rwanda’s beautiful tourist attractions, there are also other classic adventures that the Land of a thousand hills has to offer such as hiking along well kept trails into the valleys and walking in Nyungwe Forest that is rich in biodiversity as it is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa.
Day 5
After a morning breakfast head out for drive through Kibuye to marvel in the beautiful views of lake Kivu after which relax at the shores of the lake for a birding experience. You will then enjoy a boat ride on the lake where you will see various islands and enjoy a swim in the refreshing waters.
Day 6
After breakfast you will go for another boat ride on lake Kivu where you will see fishing villages and how they fish, visit Goma over the boarder to witness the devastation caused by the Nyiragongo volcano after it erupted in 2002. Engage with the locals there and participate in some rehabilitating activities.
Day 7
The day starts with morning breakfast and there after a walk through the nearby villages where you will also visit an orphanage that offered shelter to kids devastated by the genocide. You will get an insight on how the locals live and get to experience their cultures and then later make the journey to volcanoes national park.
Day 8
After an early morning breakfast, the driver will take you to the headquarters for a briefing before starting on the gorilla trekking expedition. You will get spend time with the gorillas among other primates in their natural habitat, see other primates and how they interact with their surroundings while taking in breathtaking views of the luscious green forest. Hence you have to prepared as it takes hours before spotting the gorillas.
Day 9
After breakfast you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out for some optional activities such as golden monkey tracking and climbing the Visoke volcano. Later you can visit the Dian Fossey tomb and Karisoke Research Center which founded to make research and protect the mountain gorillas from extinction. She devoted her lifetimes work towards primate conservation in the Volcanoes Mountains.
Day 10
Departure to the airport but with a few stops to visit Kigali city for one last time.
